Stephanie Courtney, I Am Your Biggest Fan
If you know me at all, you know that I have been in love with Flo from the Progressive Auto Insurance commercials for years. Of course, I recently found out that she was married, which is quite disillusioning. Ah well, I suppose there are more fish in the sea…
You may also know that I have been involved in the production of a video resume to be launched on HireKevinDolan.com, which will be similar to Barney Stinson’s video resume from HIMYM.
I’ve been considering seeking out celebrity endorsements, and I could consider no better celebrity than Stephanie Courtney. If I succeed in getting her to record a short 20 second endorsement clip on YouTube, it would really just make my day, perhaps even my life.
So I wrote her a letter. I found two different addresses which may reach her. The first was listed on some site which posted addresses that people use to try to get celeb autographs. This particular address was for Odenkirk Talent Management (I assume this is run by Bob Odenkirk, who is another one of my favorites.)
The second address is one which I believe to be Stephanie Courtney’s home address. I won’t tell you how I came by it, but it certainly took some searching. I also found what I believe to be her phone number, but I don’t know if I should try calling it.
Anyway, here is a transcript of the letter I sent her:
Dear Stephanie Courtney,
I hope this letter finds you in good spirits.
First off, I would like to say that I am a huge fan of your work, from your stand-up comedy to your recent work on Tom Goes to the Mayor, and of course, the Progressive Insurance commercials.
I am writing this letter because I am currently attempting to compile a video resume to be launched on HireKevinDolan.com. I am a college student, not really looking for any work, so the goal of the website is to make a funny irrelevant video resume, not to actually be hired by anyone.
While brainstorming ideas about the video, we considered contacting one of our favorite celebrities and begging for a celebrity endorsement. Immediately, you came to my mind, because as I said before, I am a huge fan.
If you could find the time in your busy schedule to record a short video endorsement and post it to YouTube, or get it to me in some other way, it would be very much appreciated. You don’t need to say much and it could be recorded on a low-quality webcam– it would really just make my life.
