Netflix!!
I know, I know, raving about how awesome Netflix is… that’s so 2007. It’s a new decade, man! Well I’m sorry; I can’t help it– it’s just fantastic!
I’ve been using Netflix for about a month now. I initially signed up to get $8 for free on Campus Food, by signing up for a free trial one-dvd-out-at-a-time, but just as they had expected, I was immediately hooked.
I’ve since upgraded to the three-dvd-out-at-a-time plan, which would theoretically allow me to have a new DVD every day (excluding Sunday, of course). This is the case, because when I ship a DVD out it is typically received in two days, but then I get a new one back the next day.
Unfortunately, I’m a little lazy and I don’t get them out immediately after I watch them; plus I’m scared to put my outgoing mail in my mailbox for some reason.
So the Netflix feature I’ve been using serially, the ability to watch instantly. Oh my god is that amazing!
It got me into Dexter, since I was able to watch the first two season right on Netflix. Then it was 30 Rock, another fantastic show. Then I moved on to British sitcoms, Coupling which was hilarious (Britain’s response to Friends, with a greater emphasis on sex!), and finally The IT Crowd, which was only mildly entertaining, but somehow serially watchable.
So then I only recently started heavily watching movies instantly. Sure, most of the movies you’ve heard of and wanted to see aren’t available, but there are tons and tons of indie and foreign movies. I’ve been averaging 2-3 movies a day, as of late. Thank god I’m not doing anything useful!
Anyways, use Netflix.
